At 500 years old, located in the heart of the town centre and situated in the town’s only conservation area, lies Wigan’s hidden gem; the John Bull Chophouse.
Voted Thwaites Pub of the Year and winners of Best Pint in the 2017 Thwaites Awards for Excellence, the John Bull Chophouse has been run by the same family for 40 years and offers a warm welcome to all.
From the outside we’re a characterful listed building with a sunny cobbled courtyard to the front. However, once our jukebox starts playing, the first pints are pulled and the first punters are welcomed through the door, we’re a vibrant, lively and friendly pub.
After a full bar refurbishment, we now offer 17 draught beers including 6 Cask ales , 3 ciders and 3 craft beers. And if that doesn’t persuade you, we now also stock Henry Weston’s Old Rosie Real Cider as well as offering a craft beer menu featuring a range of quirky and interesting beers from around the world and a really impressive range of whiskeys and rums!
Last orders on a Friday and Saturday are at 1:30am, so whether you join us for a drink in the sun or for a big night out, we look forward to seeing you soon!
